Owning an original Mr Whippy Van may not be everyone’s dream, but as a child growing up in the 80s I was surrounded by mobile gelati vans and ice cream trucks. Fast forward to 2012 and along my travels I stumbled across a rundown mobile ice cream van in a shed in outback Western Australia.
The van is currently being restored by a team of dedicated enthusiasts in Cheltenham Victoria and it has affectionately been dubbed the Whipit Van. It will be the first mobile gelati van on the road with a 5.7 litre Chevy Motor. Crazy you say, but wait and see!
The mobile ice cream van will be used to co-promote, waffle cones, wafer cones, soft serve, fresh fruit yoghurt and gelato. I also plan to display the Whipit mobile gelati van off at a Classic Car or Hot Rod Show.
If you have an upcoming corporate, fundraising or private event the van will be available for hire later in the year. If you are getting married and you wish to have the Whipit van serve your guests ice creams or simply used to feature in photos, please contact us.
